Vocabulary-Freedom 1783 by Catherine Johnson
I have collated all the tricky vocabulary that I felt my class would struggle with or wouldn’t know before starting the book. The powerpoint is filled with chosen tricky vocabulary and the definitions.
Chapter 10/11 are blank as I didn’t feel there were any words that the class would struggle with. The last slide is the glossary from the book.
Definitions are taken from searching DEF: (insert word) on google.

Darwin's Dragons Vocabulary

Activities to support Vocabulary/Writing
As a school we use Jane Considine’s approach to writing. As writing lead, last year I was tasked with supporting my team with a bank of activities and resources that could enhance the initiate section of the writing process. Some of these activities rely on resources that can be purchased from thetrainingspace.co.uk however the majority can be used alongside any writing approach.
The document outlines how activities can be differentiated across ability groups, it also lists resources required for each activity. I have included some of the resources I created.
NB: none of the resources use any of Jane Considines branding or resources however her approach is mentioned throughout. I have detailed which activities require The Write Stuff resources and also how these can be adapted for those schools that use other approaches.
